I'm not looking to be an assistant to a celebrity or anything. Currently I am the Executive assistant to the CEO and VP of a company. I enjoy what I do but I really enjoy the days when i'm more of a personal assistant than an executive assistant. None of the placement firms want you without at least 2 years having already been a personal assistant already. I have all the needed demonstrated skills except the in home experience. My resume is solid, I even have steller ref's but I can't get an agency to look at me and all reply's to postings end up at an agency. Any idea's?
I would like to start my own business working as a personal assistant / concierge. I have about eight years experience as an assistant to the president of a small company, as well as about 6 years experience in the service industry. I am very good at decorating, gifting & gift wrapping, and party planning. I also do well acting as a liason when making various arrangemnts (travel, social events, etc).
I am a student at CSUF and as a assignment I need to interview a personal assistant for a report. I do not know how to get into contact with a celebrities personal assistant. Please advise.
I just finished reading the book "4-hour work week" (something like that) and I'm very intrigued about the idea of getting a virtual personal assistant ("virtual" in this case means someone located in a virtual office, but is actually a real person). Does anybody here have any experience with that sort of thing? Were you satisfied / disappointed? Please refrain from answering if you have not actually tried it. I'm looking to hear actual experiences, not some generic "common sense" opinions. Thanks!
